Texas WIC Helps Parents Online

Texas WIC is ready to help parents from pregnancy to toddler. They even have free classes online each month to help parents learn the ropes. 

During March, WIC online classes range in topics from how to feed your baby to a live demonstration with a guest speaker on “Fearless Family Meals” and a “Life Pregnancy Discussion.”  There are two types of classes offered: 

  1. Live Online Classes – Use a link to watch a class live from your phone or computer.
  2. Click & Learn – You follow along by clicking through course materials.

Here is a glimpse of WIC Live Online classes coming up this week: 

March 22 from 10 AM to 11 AM  – Live Activity on Fearless Family Meals

March 22 from Noon to 1 PM – Live Discussion on WIC Shopping Tips and Tricks

March 22 from 3 to 4 PM – Live Discussion Series for Breastfeeding, Pumping and Bottle Feeding

March 23 from 1 to 2 PM – Live Discussion on Feeding Your Baby from 8 to 12 Months

Take Free WIC Classes At Home From Phone, Computer

Texas WIC classes this month are packed with wonderful tips from experts. Included are sessions on from everything from how to make a recipe using WIC foods to storytime for your little one.  Use the link below to Texas WIC to sign up for the free classes.

Here is a glance at some of the FREE upcoming LIVE ONLINE classes that can be taken from the comfort of your own home: 

  • Introducing Your Baby To Foods – Oct. 13 – 11 AM to Noon  In this class, Texas WIC covers how to know if your baby is ready for solid foods and what foods to introduce at first.
  • Story Time with Zobey – Oct. 14th – 9:30 – 10 AM Texas WIC makes learning with your little one fun with a story told by Zobey. In this story, Zobey introduces how fruits and vegetables grow in a garden and explains why trying new foods is fun.
  • Discussion on Picky Eating – Oct. 18th – 10 – 11 AM Experts at Texas WIC explain how to encourage new foods and how to respond to picky eating.
  • Cooking with WIC Foods – Oct. 18th – 11:30 – 12:30 In this fun class, Texas WIC demonstrates how to turn WIC foods into a fun cooking activity, and to get your kids excited to try new foods.

Texas WIC Class Offers Up Recipe To Stay Hydrated During Summer

The hot summer months have arrived, and it’s important to keep you and your family hydrated without filling up on sugary drinks. An online Texas WIC class  has several tips to help.

Texas WIC is offering an online class Monday that offers recommendations for drinks for children, ways to drink “more water and less sugar” and how to make kid-friendly infused waters and ice cubes. 

“We’ll explore the truth behind many common drinks and demonstrate recipe ideas that are not only cool for kids, but fun for the whole family,” according to Texas WIC’s online class description.

The “Live Discussion and Activity on Cool Drinks for Kids” class is being offered online from 1 to 2 PM on Monday, June 21st on the TexasWIC.org website. If you would like to participate, simply register for the class using the link below:

Texas WIC  Offers Free Classes Online

As soon as your baby is born you’re expected to know everything about taking care of an infant. You have to learn how to nurse your baby and everything the little one is trying to communicate every time they cry.  There’s a lot to learn, but luckily Texas WIC offers a catalog of online classes for mothers. It’s all 100% free of charge. 

If you are a Texas WIC client, taking the courses is part of the free program. It’s designed to help pregnant and breastfeeding mothers get a healthy start for their infants and children up to age 5. The program also offers access to its WIC clinics and provides free nutritional WIC-approved food.  Some of the classes are live during scheduled dates and times. Other classes are “Click and Learn” presentations.  Even if you aren’t part of Texas WIC, you can participate in some of the classes online.

Topics range on everything from “What to Expect Year to Year,” “The Baby Blues and Postpartum Depression” and “Smart Snacks for Children” There are even entertainment programs for kids. A “Live Story with Zobey” teaches kids basic counting skills and how fruits and vegetables grow in a garden. It also encourages trying new foods.  The WIC classes are an excellent resource to learn how to be a better parent and how to care for yourself.
